Adriano Design’s LUCE Wall System for Cini Lab Selected for the ADI Design Index 2026

LUCE, the patented architectural partition system designed by Adriano Design for the Italian-Brazilian brand Cini Lab, has been selected for the 2026 ADI Design Index, the yearly volume collecting the best of Italian design, and is now a candidate for the next Compasso d’Oro.

Modular, flexible and customizable, LUCE is inspired by the iconic 19th-century iron-and-glass window. It carries that architectural heritage into a lightweight structure that keeps the spirit and industrial logic of the original while evolving its construction and functionality.
The aluminum frame is configured through a digital tool available to designers, who can define the layout and integrate functional elements such as bookcases, storage units, shelves, doors and openings. A single partition can combine panels in different materials (glass, wood, fabric, sound-absorbing modules and more) and thicknesses (4 to 7 mm).
The joint between profiles is patented: instead of the traditional screwed bracket, a structural die-cast zamak insert locks the profiles together. This allows smaller sections, reducing frame weight and production costs, with a cleaner, more essential look and no compromise on mechanical performance.
A second patent covers panel fixing: a plastic glazing stop slides inside the profile and locks the panel only after the frame has been installed on site.
Together, the joint and glazing-stop systems allow LUCE to ship disassembled, with only the main uprights pre-assembled. The frame can be handled, assembled, installed and adjusted with ease, then completed with the panels. This reduces weight, bulk, damage risk and overall logistical impact, making transport and installation more efficient.
