In 2010 and in the peak of the global economical crisis La Castellamonte, feeling threatened by the declining market, is questioning itself on how to insure the continuity of an artisanal company facing the threat of going down with their consolidated line of “classic” products, dares to broaden it’s market to ensure the continuity of their sales throughout the year.
A throughout analysis is carried out to determine the the company’s commercial network, production and current methods of communications standing point. Fascinated by another Adriano Design project, Teckell the crystal foosball table, what strikes them is the transformation of an already consolidated product into a new object with a rich luxurious soul. The collaboration with Adriano brothers takes off, aiming towards a new business model where the existing structure of the producer, their know-how and integrity is preserved and redirected towards new objectives. A product has been designed which thanks to its bi-directional modularity resolves various problems with existing stove’s production. It studies a product composed of separate modules allowing configuration of a product lineup of numerus stove models, creating a complete new catalogue of stoves, using a reduced number of pieces (as compared to “classic” models) leading to a facilitated production process, lighter inventory requirements and lowered overall costs.
The work starts with a rather ambitious objective; presenting the first collection of objects in the Aprile of the same year (2007). after the evaluation of the company, the production systems and commercial network, Adriano brothers decide to work on a previously inexistent category of furniture to be able to amaze and create an irresistible attention from the media towards the company. After a profound research, a new product in re-found whiting a foosball table, a seemingly known object to all but never been revised with a contemporary touch capable of redirecting it from an oratory to a living room.
