Nivola redefines the home racing experience by transforming a complex technical device into a sophisticated piece of contemporary design. Moving away from the “industrial clutter” of traditional simulators, Nivola integrates high-performance technology into an essential, sculptural form.
Inspired by the archetypal toy car, Nivola uses primary geometries to trigger the imagination and a sense of motion. It is a “racing machine” designed not just for performance, but for the beauty of the domestic space—proving that professional simulation can coexist with the elegance of a modern home.
Nivola is born from a single, masterful gesture: curved flat sheets. This minimalist construction allows for two distinct souls:
4mm Aluminum, For a bold, technical, and contemporary character.
Curved Plywood, A warm, organic finish that dialogues seamlessly with interior decor.
From a formal point of view, Nivola works by subtraction: pure volumes, materials consistent with the Teckell language and total elimination of the visual disorder typical of technical devices. The functional complexity is hidden and governed by the project, allowing the object to assume the status of a piece of furniture and not of simple equipment.
The innovation of the project lies in the typological redefinition of the driving simulator, which from a technical device not very suitable for the home space becomes a design object capable of integrating technology, imagination and culture of living. In this sense, Nivola proposes a new interpretation of the relationship between performance and everyday life, in which design assumes the role of mediator between technological innovation and quality of life.
For these reasons Nivola is presented as a candidate for the Compasso d’Oro ADI, as a project that interprets in a conscious and original way the role of industrial design in the transformation of contemporary technological objects.
