bLab italia, was a company founded by the architects Gregg Brodarick and Gianfranco Barban is producing a special polymer tile withholding a particular liquid inside which reacts to a person’s weight, creating a different texture every time within its internal chamber. Being aware of their products critical status, they’ve asked Adriano brothers to transform the bLab company into an editor in the world of furniture. This was the dawn of Teckell.
The work starts with a rather ambitious goal: presenting the first collection in the april of the same year (2007). After an accurate evaluation of the company, the production systems and commercial network, Adriano brothers decide to work on a previously inexistent category of furniture to be able to amaze and create an irresistible attention from the media towards the company. After a profound research, a new product in re-found whiting a foosball table, a seemingly known object to all but never been revised with a contemporary touch capable of redirecting it from an oratory to a living room.
In occasion of the 2008 Salone del Mobile, Teckell family’s product lineup is laid out which aims at design, innovation and discovery of the quality of Italian craftsmanship.
The image of Teckell is consolidated and the first limited edition is born: the Green Teckell (Angolo), created from only three raw materials. Coming strong from Teckell’s success, second step was working on the image and communication of bLab and their “liquid” products. A new website is elaborated and new company brands are redistributed.
We had to design a new product that cold be produced in larger series, with more industrialised technologies and yet capable of inducing the same emotions for style, elegance and refinement embodied in the previous editions, all at the same time. The Krystall Teckell (Contropiede) is born, a technologically sophisticated product who’s aim (production wise) is to minimise the process of glueing the glass.
With sales soaring there comes the evident need for improving the company’s productivity, without loosing the strategic values of the consolidated products from Teckell collection. Thus the Krystal Teckell (Cristallino) is created: the first foosball table made entirely in crystal glass with a drastic reduction in number of components and glueing process.Base on the same structure a limited edition is made with precious materials, Gold Teckell (Cristallino Gold) and produced in 50 exemplary pieces with gold plated components.
Teckell goes from a product to becoming a brand, surpassing the mother company in sales. Continuing its growth new products and technologies are introduced: the new collections 90th Minute and Intervallo are thought to keep the transparency factor connected with crystal by using curved glass bounding seamlessly with wooden elements withholding them, creating an amazingly string structure capable of eliminating any need for glueing in favour of productivity.
